The Pig is a chic country house hotel with restaurant serving homegrown/ locally foraged produce, everything sourced from their own garden and grounds or locally from within a 25 mile radius. The walled kitchen garden is an edible delight, the lilly pond enchanting and the house Farrow & Balled to within an inch of its life. But do you know what? It really works.

Apart from the food, what stood out for us was the fact that the whole hotel has been exquisitely art directed with a watchful eye to detail, and a heady mixture of classic antiques and vintage boho chic.

We were particularly taken by the clever use of Indian Bombay Chic items that blended seemlessly into this former Georgian Shooting Lodge  some 7,200 miles from India as the A380 flies. Not least because India is a destination we are very familiar with, and regularly source decorative items from  for Lacewing Interiors.

See our antique Indian Chariot Wheels, our vintage Indian Wooden Shrines and other items in our SHOP if you fancy this very distinctive look for yourself.
